As a driving force in the mining sector, I have dedicated my career to transforming the industry through sustainable, ethical practices and a strong focus on gender inclusivity. My journey as a former small scale miner has taken me across Tanzania, Mocambique, Kenya, and Zambia, where I work closely with women miners to transform their exquisite gemstones into state-of-the-art jewelry pieces under WOOW ME JEWEL.
And A 2nd Vice President and Head of Continental Affairs and diaspora at Council of Africa Youth-in Minerals (CAYM) headed in Addis Ababa My role extends beyond creation, as I actively participate in shaping mineral value addition discussions in the Great Lakes region. I've contributed my insights in various workshops and conferences organized by the International Conference on Great Lakes Region. These include the Regional Forum on the Implementation of the ICGLR Strategy for the ASM Gold in Kinshasa, DRC, and forums in Kampala, Uganda, and Lusaka, Zambia, focusing on enhancing the participation of women and youth in the mining sector. I am also a proud contributor to the PanAfGeo-2 Eastern/ Northern Africa Handbook, where I authored the chapter "THE ROAD LESS MINED: Can Artisanal Mining and the Environment Co-Exist in Eastern Africa Region," highlighting the delicate balance between artisanal mining and environmental sustainability. Under TWIMMI, in collaboration with the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organised Crimes and Resilience Fund, we implemented a crucial health and safety training and PPE distribution program, benefiting over 150 women miners in Kahama, northern Tanzania.
